Mathis

Welcome

I am passionate about helping people look at life’s challenges through a different set of lenses. I believe people can change, a little, over time, and a little change, can make a difference. Maintaining change, in the midst of challenge, is difficult work and most of us need help keeping our own clarity.

It doesn’t matter if it is an individual, a couple, or an organization, the natural tendency is to expect others to change; “If my board would only…” or, “If my spouse/child/sibling/parent would change how they speak to me…”, however, the only person anyone can change is self. The more we focus on change in others the less apt we are to change self. And, the more we expect others to change the less apt they are to change. It is a never ending cycle that keeps people stuck!

When it comes to change in self, finding an outside position in our own functioning and figuring out how we can adjust that functioning is no small feat. That is where I can help.

Coaching

Coaching from the perspective of natural systems can provide an increased view of content and process that can make a difference in personal and professional lives.

  • What happens in your workplace or family when you change you?
  • How do you do at maintaining your change amidst the pushback?
  • Is there a parallel between the complaints in your workplace and your marriage?
  • How do you focus on your own functioning, especially in an anxious organization?
  • Who challenges you, in the context of caring, and provides a different view than you can see?

Consulting

Consulting

In the middle of transition and confusion, how do you identify the important facts? Do you need help facilitating clear thinking when your organization becomes emotionally triggered?

Most leaders can see what is at hand and may even see a way to the future but miss:
  • The presence of the past, and
  • Their own presence and how it functions in the organization.

In a collaborative model, Dr. Mathis will work with leadership to identify the broader and underlying matters of process that provide the fuel for issue-driven conflict and turmoil.

Differentiation begins when one family member begins to more clearly state his own inner life principles and convictions, and he begins to take responsible action based on convictions.”
